We’ve all heard of Know-it-all folks. How many of us are honest about the fact that we’re DO-it-all folks? On The Audrey Chapman Show February 4th, Audrey and Donna Britt, author of Brothers (and Me), talked about women who love and give too much. They are definitely Do-it-all's!
Whether you're a woman or a man, if the way you love someone is to do everything for them Audrey said, “I don’t agree with that.” She said you want to be responsive to someone, not responsible for them. Audrey said that type of behavior only makes it hard for your loved one to become a critical thinker, a good problem solver, and you “end up robbing them of any sense of self-esteem or self-worth.”
Audrey also suggested reading Melody Beattie’s books on codependency.
