“It has now been over a month since thousands of federal workers have been off their jobs without pay. Many are having to make some tough decisions about day to day living. We hope this ‘rolling food collection drive’ will help to keep meals on the table for these employees,” said WHUR Interim General Manager Sean Plater.

In addition to over 1,000 toys being donated, we also received bikes, games, PS4 Playstation, skateboards, dolls, video games, gift cards, cash, clothing, shoes, educational resources, and sporting gear.

The donations will be distributed to the YMCA, Sisters4Sisters Inc., Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington, Shepherd’s Cove Shelter – a homeless facility in Prince George’s County for women and their children, and Bright Beginnings Inc.
