Words cannot express how grateful we here at WHUR are to those who answered the call to help feed our DMV neighbors in need this Thanksgiving season. All donations, big and small, came from a place of love and care and we could not be more proud to say that together we were able to raise $82,200 in cash and hundreds of pounds of non-perishable food items. 100% of the donations will go to those families in need.
None of this would have been possible without the help of our incredible sponsors including Howard University, Capital Area Food Bank, Wegmans, Shabach Ministries, SunTrust and the Howard University Radio Network.
We would also like to thank every individual or group that made a donation of any kind. There are just too many to list individually.
A very special thank you goes out to our hardworking volunteers, on-air talent and WHUR staff members who worked tirelessly during our 12-hour radiothon. Shoutout to our awesome Howard University students who volunteered all day as part of the “bucket-brigade” collecting cash donations along Georgia Ave, NW.
Food2Feed has been in operation for 40 years and each year, we continue to be amazed by the great outpouring of support. You are the real MVPs!
