4th of July Celebrations kick off in DC…

The District’s 4th of July celebration has begun. Right now, hundreds are lining the street for the annual parade down Constitution Avenue in N.W. The next big event is tonight star studded concert on the West Lawn of the Capitol featuring Smokey Robinson. It starts a 8 and the gates open at 3. DC Police Chief Kathy Lanier says her officers are ready for the crowds. Tonight’s fireworks are scheduled for 9:10 that could change depending on the weather. The rain date is tomorrow.

Two injured in crash in Ft. Washington…

A single car accident in Fort Washington this morning injured two people. Police were called to 210 and Old Fort Road around 2:40. Both victims were trapped inside of the vehicle for a time. There’s no word on their conditions.

Metro’s Phase III begins tomorrow…

Tomorrow night at 8 Metro will launch Phase III of their “Safe Track Plan”. Blue and Yellow line trains will not run between Braddock Road and National Airport through July 11th. Commuters are encourage to find an alternative way to get into the city during that time.

Obama joins the political campaign trail for Hillary, Trump back on the hot seat…

Hillary Clinton continues to lead Donald Trump in national polls. Tomorrow she will get a big boost to her quest for the White House. President Obama will join her on the campaign trail in N.C. Donald Trump meanwhile is fighting of anti-semintic allegations following a tweet over the weekend. Trump will be in NC as well he has a rally in Raleigh.

Growing up in a military family, Taylor Thomas lived overseas until she was 16 years old. She called places such as Great Britain and the Philippines home. For a time, Taylor even spoke with a British accent. Well now she resides in the DC area and for the past three years has worked as the news anchor for The Steve Harvey Morning Show on WHUR. Recently, Taylor has adopted the Washington Redskins as her most loved pro sports team. And she considers Hains Point as her all time favorite spot in the district.
