A massive fire destroys a Takoma Park Restaurant…
Fire crews remain on the scene of a huge restaurant fire in Takoma Park, Md. The Blaze broke out at the Manna Restaurant. There are no reported injuries. The cause remains under investigation. Area’s around Piney Branch Road and Flower Avenue are blocked to traffic.

Several major roadways here in the District are close to traffic and they will remain closed until 1am until Monday for pre and inauguration events. Thousands of police officers will be throughout the city making sure it is a safe weekend for all. 3-thousand police from across the country along with 5-Thousand National Guard troops will be on the ground. Specialist Janene Nesbit with the Michigan Army National Guard says she’s looking forward to the event and a peaceful change of power.
DC’s Mayor prepares to swear in thousands of police officers who will help protect the city and its residents….
At 1 this afternoon, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser will give remarks during a swearing in ceremony for the additional officers that will work under the Metropolitan Police Department today through the Inauguration weekend.
Trump and Pence have a full day of pre-inauguration activities today in DC….
President-elect Donald Trump is due to attend a 3:30 Wreath laying Ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. From 4 to 6 he will attend the “Make America Great Again Welcome Concert” at Lincoln Memorial. These events are free to attend. Later tonight there are several balls planned to honor Trump.
