It’s Election Day…
It is election day and every vote counts. So much so that the Department of Justice has deployed 500 monitors to 67 precincts in 28 states. It includes Fairfax and Prince William counties in Virginia. Early reports show voting turn out is high all across the country and with this election it will truly make the difference in the outcome.
What you need to know before heading to the polls …
The polls stay open in Virginia until 7 and in Maryland and the District until 8 tonight. In Maryland, first time voters you should bring id to vote. Some of the issue before residents include selecting a person to replace retiring Senator Barbara Mukulski, term limits in Montgomery County and whether to add two seats to the Prince George’s County Council. The polls close at 8 tonight. DC, the Statehood referendum is the big issue before residents. Voters will also cast ballots for two at-large council seats & in Wards 2,4, 7 & 8 and for School Board Members. You do not need ID to vote in the District of Columbia. In fact, you can still register & vote at the polls but you will need proof of residency.
