Confirmation hearings begin this morning for President-elect Donald Trumps choice as U.S Attorney General Jeff Sessions. In an unprecedented move NJ Senator Cory Booker plans to testify against his nomination. Some Democrats and members of the Congressional Black Caucus also plan to testify against him. The Democrats do not have enough votes to block the nomination.

Metro says they are not responsible for helping passengers get out of smoke filled tunnels in the event on an emergency and they are asking a judge to drop all lawsuits related to the fatal 2015 smoke incident at L’enfant Plaza. WMATA says they are a government created agency and can’t be used and the blame lies on DC EMS.
