It is not looking good for 6 children still unaccounted for following a fire in a home in N.E. Baltimore City. The mother of 9 escaped with 3 children. She and two children remain in the hospital in critical condition. Her children range in age from 8 months old to 11 years old. Fire investigators say the 3 floor collapsed during the morning blaze on the floor below. Representative Elijah Cummings said the mother worked for him.

Police search for truck driver that hit a school bus, injuring 3…

The search is on in Loudoun County for the driver of a cement truck that hit a school bus and fled the scene. It happened this morning on Evergreen Mills Road. Two students on board suffered minor injuries. The rest of the students were transported to school on another bus.

Confirmation hearings continue on the Hill for more Trump nominees…

Right now on the hill Senators are conducting confirmation hearings for another Trump cabinet nominee. This time the focus is on retired Marine General James Mattis for secretary of defense. Former Senator Sam Nunn testified Mattis is the man for the job. Senator are also weighing in on President-Elect Trump’s choice for Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Dr. Ben Carson. The retired neurosurgeon is defending his qualification for the position.

DC celebrates the opening of a new site for homeless Veterans…

DC Mayor and city leaders took part in the ribbon cutting for the new multimillion dollar site that will soon be the home to homeless DC Veterans. The John and Jill Ker Conway Residence located on North Capitol Street has 124 one bedroom apartments and 64 affordable and low-income units. The veterans will only have to pay 30% of their income for rent. The site includes counselors to help with job placement and mental health services as well.
