President Donald Trump is headed to the District’s National Museum of African American History and Culture this morning. Today’s 8:30 visit follows reports of a schedule mix up last month on Martin Luther King Day. You will notice snow plows surrounding the museum for safety reason.

President Trump has named Army Lt General Herbert Raymond “H.R.” McMaster as his new choice for National Security Advisory. He replaces Michael Flynn who resigned for misleading the VP about talks with Russian officials before
Trump was sworn in. McMaster appointment does not need Senate approval.
General McMaster will remain on active duty while leading the National Security Council. Trump’s choice is getting positive feed back from both parties in the Senate and House.
One council member is open to making changes to DC’s Paid Family Leave Law…
Could changes be on the way for the Districts newly approved paid family leave
law? City Council Chair Phil Mendelson who supported the bill now says he is open to other ways to fund the $250 (M) a year measure. Mendelson says that includes lowering the taxes for businesses to help ease the pressure on them.
