Two little girls clinch onto life after being shot in Chicago’s Southside over the weekend…

Residents in Chicago are pleading for the violence to stop. Since Friday 16 people were shot –5 fatally. Right now two girls ages 11 and 12 both shot in the head in separate incidents are clinging onto life. The girls were not the intended targets police say. One was playing basketball at a playground and the other was sitting in a car.

DC Police search for S.E. Shooter…

DC Police have not released the name of the person who was found shot to death in front of Ferebee Hope Elementary School in  S.E. over the weekend.  The search for his killer also continues. Classes will not be affected.

Strong winds leaves thousands in our area without power…

We are still dealing with power outages this morning. the most are in Fairfax County. Dominion Virginia is reporting about 11-thousand customers without service. Fairfax County Public Schools will open two hours late today as a result of power problems. Pepco is reporting less than 1,000 outages in Prince George’s, DC and Montgomery Counties.

Heavy Wind Warning in effect for WHUR Listening area…

Look for a very windy and possibly dangerous day. The National Weather Service
has issued a heavy wind warning until 6 tonight for the entire WHUR listening area. We could see gust up to 65 mph.
