Fantasia – Award Winning Singer and Broadway Performer

Fantasia was raised in High Point, North Carolina. She made her big break on American Idol in 2004 while singing “Summertime” from the opera of Porgy and Bess. In 2006, Fantasia released her second album, which featured the single “When I See U” which later received three Grammy nominations in 2008.

Fantasia was featured in the Broadway musical The Color Purple, playing the lead role of Celie, for which she won a 2007 Theatre World Award.

Fantasia’s third studio album Back to Me was released in August 2010 and features the single “Bittersweet,” which ranked in the top ten on the R&B chart. The single won her a Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.
