    Kevin “Slow Jammin’” James is a native of Punxsutawny, PA. That’s right, the place that is also home to the world’s most famous groundhog. Growing up he was a major fan of all Pittsburgh sports teams and still is today. After beginning his career in Frederick, Maryland, Kevin soon moved to DC to work at WKYS. From there he’s crisscrossed the country more than a few times working in California, Florida, Houston and back to California. You can catch his show The Weekend Quiet Storm on WHUR. Kevin is quite an animal lover. Just ask his dog, Phantom.

      Grew Up In: I moved from Punxsutawney to Philadelphia when I was 9. Then I spent some time in Youngstown, OH, my formative years.
      Marital Status: Divorced, but looking for a wife
      Favorite City: Any city I live in at a particular time is my favorite city
      Favorite Way To Relax: Eating a cheese steak and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, or any sports really
      Favorite Movie: I love animals, so Turner and Hooch, K-9, and I just saw Beverly Hills Chihuahua.
      Favorite Novel: Embarrassing but I don’t have one. I read sports.
      Favorite Sports Team: Anything Pittsburgh! I’m a Steeler fan, Penguin fan, Pirate fan, and Pittsburgh Panther fan.
      Motto: When arguing with a fool, make sure they’re not doing the same thing.
      Ten All Time Favorite Songs: I get asked that a lot. They change from time to time, but there are certain one’s.

      Favorite Song Last Year: I don’t have a current favorite. One I like from maybe 7 years ago is “Faded Pictures”- Case & Joe
      Favorite Song Last 10 Years: I’m sticking with “Faded Pictures”- Case & Joe. I never get tired of listening to it.
      Best Concert Ever Attended: It would be between Stevie Wonder, Frankie Beverly and Maze and Bruce Springsteen. I’m going to put Maze at the top.
      How Long In Radio: 28-29 years
      How Long At WHUR: 8 years
      Favorite Vacation Spot: I guess a cruise to the Caribbean.
      Favorite Interview: George Clinton and Robert Palmer.
      Biggest Regret: Not part of my vocabulary. No regrets.
      Best Advice: Your mother always knows best. Trust your mother. The older you get the smarter your parents seem to be.
      I Dislike: Rude or insensitive people. People who lack respect.
