    About Me Every Sunday afternoon a wonderful aroma wafts about the station. It’s the sweet scent of a butter cream candle lit by DC Inspirations host Lorna Newton. She likes to set a relaxing mood while doing her show. Lorna has been on the air at WHUR for 14 years – including 10 years on the “Live" with Doug & Lorna. This multitalented performer got her start in the U.S. Air Force where she won 1st place as a Master of Ceremonies, in the Air Force Wide Talent Competition and was selected for the prestigious “TOPS IN BLUE” a traveling military entertainment ensemble. Lorna is married to the love of her life and has three wonderful stepchildren.
