The Helping Hands Radiothon is a 12-hour fundraiser to raise money to send 500 Howard University students to cities around the globe to be in service to communities in need. The volunteer effort is part of what’s called Alternative Spring Break, where students forgo a traditional spring break of fun in the sun and instead roll up their sleeves to help others.

This year, students will perform community service projects in Baltimore, MD; Chicago, Illinois; Washington, DC; Detroit, Michigan; Dilley, Texas; Flint, Michigan; Lumberton, NC; Memphis, Tennessee; Newark, New Jersey; New Orleans, Louisiana; St. Louis, Missouri; Ghana; and Haiti.
