    About Me Originally from West Palm Beach, Florida, Michael (Mike) Burke started his radio career while still in high school. A local station, WIRK, put Mike to work on their “High School News” segment as a reporter.

    After graduation, it was off to Howard University to study Broadcast Management. Mike worked at the student-run campus station WHBC initially as an announcer, then as program director.

    Mike has enjoyed a successful 30-year career in Washington radio working for United Broadcasting Co, Radio Broadcast Communications, Inc., and Radio One. Currently he is a freelance on-air personality with WHUR.
