About Me:
Carmilla Wheeler, a resident of Prince Georges County, Maryland, is the founder and CEO of Saving a Generation LLC. Saving a Generation LLC is a non-profit organization that helps disadvantage kids to break their cycle of poverty, violence, low self-esteem, and the revolving door of the prison systems that has entrapped many of our young people. Ms. Wheeler is the youngest of six children, and grew up in humble beginnings in a Southeast DC neighborhood. Although her family did not practice any religion, GOD then was developing her drive to fight for the disadvantage. As a young lady, an article demonstrated her independence and critical thinking she wrote rebutting William F. Buckley's assertion regarding race. Her response was published in The Washington Times in 1994.
She has a Bachelors of Science in Computer Information Systems from University of Maryland, College Park, where she made the dean's list and graduated in half the normal time of six years for science degrees. She is continuing her studies by pursuing a Masters of Arts in Christian Counseling at Christian Leadership University in New York. Ms. Wheeler works as a federal contractor for the Department of Defense and has developed her professional experience over the years with both contractor organizations and federal agencies. Ms. Wheeler's motivation and drive was harnessed by GOD, and in 2001 became a Christian Since then she has given of herself to helping the poor, the elderly and infirmed and to various women's ministries.
