
Thursday was National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, and guess who stopped by the studio to talk to our favorite midday personality, Triscina Grey… NBA Legend, Magic Johnson!
It’s been 22 years since Magic Johnson was diagnosed with HIV. Since then, he has been an advocate and a spokesperson for HIV/AIDS, spreading awareness and using his own experience as a testimony for others.
Magic Johnson shared with our listeners the importance of staying safe and getting tested. According to statistical data, African Americans, ages 13-24 represent the highest number of new HIV cases in the United States.
While on his tour of Washington DC, Magic Johnson spoke to students, faculty and staff at Howard University Hospital and, met with President Obama to discuss funding for HIV/Aids initiatives.
