    Nikki Strong
About Me Nikki Strong got her start in radio doing the gospel show at Brown University’s professional station WBRU. Since then, she has worked in various stations in different formats - Soft Rock, International, Hip Hop, R&B and Talk. One of her most fulfilling gigs was building and developing the "neo-soul" channel, The Flow, at XM Satellite Radio where she worked as Music Director. She also served as Music Director for the World Music station XM100 WorldZone and then built an international Hip Hop music station for WorldSpace Satellite Radio. These last two jobs enabled Nikki to experience first hand how impactful African American culture particularly Soul, R&B and Jazz have been on music from all over the world. On the air, Nikki enjoys engaging and having fun with her listeners. In addition to all kinds of music, Nikki loves to dance - salsa, ballet, flamenco, jazz, modern, house, African…. When it comes to movement, she is down for the cause! She is excited and honored to be a member of the WHUR family.
