About Me
For Phil Nelson, his calling to radio began with a small tape deck and a record player in the early 1970s. He discovered how to mimic songs played off the radio using his handy little 3-in-1 component set, which lead to DJing an impromptu party for his friends after school. Phil has now spent 27 years in the business he loves. He’s been a Quiet Storm host, a music director and programming director. For the past seven years he’s been with WHUR. Ocassionally you can hear him filling in on the Quiet Storm. Currently he's full time overnights. Phil is married and lives in the DC area.
