The Filmfest DC Presents Summer Series at THEARC Theater: As a community service, the Washington, DC International Film Festival will present “Filmfest DC” at THEARC Theater”, a weekend series of film festival favorites. The series will take place July 11th, 12th and the 14th and feature films for both children and adults. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis.
During the summer months, the Gaylord National Resort at National Harbor hosts a free fireworks show over the Potomac River on select Saturday nights at 9:30 p.m. Whether viewed from an atrium-view guest room, a window-side table in one of the resort restaurants or outside along the hotel’s waterfront, the fireworks are a great way to celebrate summer.
July 12 – 13, 2014 – Baltimore/Washington One Caribbean Carnival – On Saturday July 12, the Parade starts at Noon at 900 E 33rd Street in Baltimore, Maryland and travels along Alameda Street to St. Lo Drive. The Festival continues at Lake Clifton Park until 10:00 pm; $10 entrance fee. On Sunday July 13, the Festival continues from Noon to 9:00 pm featuring entertainment, food and crafts. Admission: $15.00 per person.
Alexandria Birthday and Independence Day Fireworks – July 12, 2014, Oronoco Bay Park. The City of Alexandria celebrates its own birthday. The annual event includes children’s activities, a concert performed by the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, birthday cake and a fireworks extravaganza. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and a picnic. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase.
Washington Kastles Tennis Tournament – July 13, 2014. The Washington Kastles bring live tennis tournaments to the Washington, DC. Area. Each July the Kastles actively work with local charities and community organizations to make tennis accessible to everyone in the greater national capital area. The tournaments will take place at the George Washington University’s newly renovated Charles E. Smith Center, located in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of Washington DC.
