WHUR Children’s Coat Drive, Anthony Hamilton & The Whispers

TAKING IT TO THE STREETS WEEKEND HAPS

  • The WHUR Annual Children’s Coat Drive is this Saturday at the Iverson Mall from 12noon – 4pm. Our very own Troy Johnson and Harold Fisher will be on hand, so come out and donate a new coat and help a child feel warm for the winter.
  • The “What I’m Feelin” Tour starring Anthony Hamilton with special guest Lalah Hathaway and Eric Benet Saturday October 8th at D.A.R. Constitution Hall. Only a few tickets left so get yours today. Show time is 8pm.
  • The Silver Spring Health & Wellness Expo and Dance Fitness Festival takes place this Sunday at the Civic Center Veterans Plaza from 12noon – 8pm.
  • Also on Sunday, the legendary Whispers are at the Birchmere for a 7:30 performance.
  • Nate Parker’s “Birth of a Nation” will be in theaters tomorrow. This is the story of Nat Turner. It stars Gabrielle Union, Aja Naomi King and many more.
  • Washington’s Football team will be travailing up I-95 to take on the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday. Kick off is at 1pm.
