During the show on Saturday, July 9th, Audrey talked with Pearl Cleage and callers about the one thing they - or Cleage's character Blue Hamilton in her new book Just Wanna Testify - would change.
During the discussion, Audrey suggested two great books that have been around for a while which are excellent inspiration for your transformation:
Excuses Begone! by bestselling author and inspirational speaker Wayne Dyer
Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway by bestselling author Susan Jeffers
Audrey also put together some pointers, based on Jeffers' book. They are:
*Choose the path that contributes to your growth, and makes you feel at peace with yourself and others.
*Taking responsibility means: Never blaming anyone else for anything you are being, doing, having or feeling; not blaming yourself, which makes you a victim; being aware of situations where you are not taking responsibility, so you can change.
*Silence negative internal messages.
*Identify where you are stuck and ask yourself, "What's the payoff?"
*What do you want in life? Are you acting on it?
*What are the choices you have in any given situation?
*List in a notebook the many choices available to you for changing your situations into positive ones.
I'd also like to add one: as much as possible, enjoy the journey. Sure it sucks at times, but the payoff is always worth it. You've had experiences like that before, haven't you? Remember them as you move forward. That inner strength has not left you.
All the best!
