Today’s Guests:  Uloma Chapo – Walk Coordinator for MS Walk event. 

The WHUR family is joining the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s for their 5k event, in hopes of moving toward a world free of Multiple Sclerosis. Today’s Guest:  Allen Burriss – President of Earth’s Natural Force Connection.

In celebration of Earth Day 2014, the Earth’s Natural Force Connections and the D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation, with support from the District Department of the Environment and the Howard University Office of Sustainability are celebrating by offering a “One City Celebrating a Green Lifestyle,” festival. This event will help people to embrace the eco-lifestyle, explore a marketplace for highly efficient products and see demonstrations on how easy it is to go green. The University of Maryland’s Nyumburu Cultural Center is hosting, “The James Otis Williams Youth Literacy and Performance Poetry Competition,” on Saturday, April 19, 2014.  At this event, a literature conference for independent book publishers will be offered from 9:30 to 4:30 pm, and a poetry competition for students from grade school through high school, will start at 5:30 pm.
