This being the first weekend of February, I will be featuring the music of the Motown era during this Saturday mornings Mini Concert. As we recognize Black History Month I will take you on a musical trip down memory lane playing some of your favorite groups and artists who help shape the sound of Motown records. Artists like Smokey Robinson, The Jackson 5, Diana Ross and the Supremes and more. It all kicks off in the 7 am hour so I invite you to join the ride.
This week my "Pick Hit" is a new song from Ledisi titled "Bravo". Check it out and let me know what you think about it. You can hit me up on my email at bgailes@whur.com.
Lastly, our heartfelt condolences go out the friends and family of the founder and host of "Soul Train", the legendary Don Cornelius. Don Cornelius was a American icon who, through his vision and determination helped introduce Black culture to America, while giving Black entertainers a vehicle for exposure.
Enjoy the show and have a great weekend!
