VH1’s Hip Hop Honors 2016 was trending on social media last night. Queen Latifah, Salt N’ Pepa, Missy Elliott and Lil Kim were all honored. The show was full of epic performances, legendary music icons and A-list celebrities including First Lady of The United States Michelle Obama.
The first ladies of hip hop were honored for their contribution to hip hop music. Rapper Eve opened up the show and said,
We all know women are the lifelines of this industry. The women we honor this evening have blazed trails.”
