A DC woman shot in the head fights for her life this morning…

A woman is in critical condition after a Southeast DC shooting. Police say the incident happened around 12:30 this morning in the 200 block of Wayne Place, SE. Authorities are working to find a suspect and a motive.

DC Mayor celebrates Read Across America Day, later she will submit a petition for Statehood to lawmakers…

DC Mayor Muriel Bowser has a busy day. First, she will kick off Read Across America Day a day early. At 9 she will read to third-graders at John Eaton Elementary School in N.W. At 2 this afternoon the Mayor will join DC Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton on the East side of the U.S. Capitol.  The two plan to deliver a formal petition for DC statehood to lawmakers.

The President wants to keep the positive energy from his speech going, he’s delaying signing a new travel ban…

President Trump is expected to put off signing a revised executive order bringing back his travel ban. The previous order was put on hold by a federal judge. CNN cites an administration official as saying the White House does not want to do anything that will distract from the positive reaction to the president’s speech last night.
