Charles Barkley Says “Thug” Is The New “N” Word

Sherman, Barkley Agree…Calling someone “Thug” has become the new way of calling them the “N” word.

Following in the footsteps of Seattle Seahawks Pro Bowler Richard Sherman, Charles Barkley agrees that calling someone “Thug” is the same as calling them the “N” word. Barkley questions how anyone can call a man who finished 2nd in his high school class and went on to Stanford working on his Masters, and because of a quick soundbyte of his emotional comments after his game winning play against the 49ers, now label him a “Thug”

But it’s not all bad for Sherman, who has explained and apologized for the rant. CNN reports that the cornerback could make some $5 million in endorsements as a result of the attention surrounding his rant.

According to Sherman’s agent, Jamie Fritz, that many are now interested in Sherman following the rant. While Sherman’s current endorsements “amount to just a bit more than his $550,000 NFL salary,” Fritz believes there are millions in deals that will be signed soon, some before the Super Bowl is played Feb. 2.
