Girl Hands Michelle Obama Her Dad’s Resume –‘My Dad’s Been Out of Work For 3 Years’

When the White House has a meet-and-greet for the First Lady and the children of White House employees, its expected that the kids will ask some pretty basic questions like what’s your favorite ice cream flavor or do you like cats too.

But one little girl came with an agenda and Michelle Obama was quite touched by it.

When it was 10-year-old Charlotte Bell‘s turn to greet the First Lady, she handed her a piece of paper and said: “My dad’s been out of a job for three years and I wanted to give you his resume.”

The first lady immediately gave the girl a long hug.

“Oh my goodness,” she told her during their embrace, then returned to her seat.

“Well, it’s a little private, but she’s doing something for her dad,” she told others in the room before looking at the girl again.

“Right? Got it!” she said, holding up the paper.

The White House declined to comment on the girl, but we learned her name and age from the AP photographer. Bell was among a group of children whose parents worked for the Obama administration and was taking part in the White House’s annual “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day.”
