Strong In The City for April 9, 2013: Ben’s, Bus Boys & Bob Marley

Not sure what to do in the DMV today/tonight, here are a few suggestions…

LIVE at Ben’s Next Door: David James

If you like to support independent and local artists or check out talent before they “blow up”, then come to LIVE at Ben’s Next Door.  Every Tuesday Ben’s Next Door features live music from local R&B/Soul artists while offering drinks and food from their tasty menu.  There is no cover. You can come and see these artists up close and personal for FREE.  I first saw Avery Sunshine there, among others. Tonight local artist David James rocks the mike.  9PM the show starts. Get there early to get a seat.

“Nine On The Ninth” Open Mic Poetry at Bus Boys & Poets

The 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards - ArrivalsNine On The Ninth” Open Mic Poetry is the popular monthly poetry series that debuted back in October 2005. (So you know our very own Joe Gorham of Joe’s place knows all about it!) It’s a feature driven format, which means, the feature opens the show and the open mic follows.  Tonights feature is the Grammy nominated local talent Carolyn Malachi

2021 14th Street, NW Washington, DC  9-11pm
